Connection to the remote SA-8000
There are three typical methods to connect to a remote network
element. The first method is to be onsite at the remote location. The
second method involves hanging a modem off of each element. This
requires an analog telephone line per modem. If an IP connection is
available, that provides the best throughput.
Holly Street provides browser based access to multiple serial and IP
enabled network elements through an analog dial-up connection and
the SA-8000 Serial Access Gateway.

The SA-8000 provides, through the connection of a single modem,
connectivity into multiple Serial only and IP (Ethernet) enabled
network elements.
This connection is in the form of a web-browser, not requiring any
additional new software to learn.
The additional benefit of the SA-8000 is the level of security provided
using the login page and the Application specific software that only
allows authorised technicians to access specific network elements.
